Don Lichty

Throughout our 130-year history at Concordia, we have been blessed by many people who share our value for Christian higher education. They have supported our mission of helping students develop in mind, body, and spirit for service to Christ in the Church and in the world. Through their prayers, student referrals, and financial support, Concordia has trained thousands of young men and women who are making a Christian difference today.

Why do they do it? Why do people support Concordia? Why do so many choose to leave a lasting legacy of support for Concordia? The following are just a few examples that will answer these questions.

Don Lichty had no idea how his tuition would be paid when he entered Concordia College Milwaukee. Thankfully, scholarship funds made a Concordia education possible for him. Over the years, Don has served on several scholarship committees and knows firsthand how critical those resources are that allow students to receive a Christian education. While Don and his wife, Lyn, have lived away from Milwaukee for their entire adult lives, they visited Concordia's Mequon campus in 2008. They were amazed at what they saw and committed themselves to helping this and future generations the way others had helped Don when he was a student. After discussing it with their sons and gaining their enthusiastic support, Don and Lyn updated their will to include Concordia with a bequest that will help future students.
